A baby is innocent, the baby is helpless and knows no wrong. I would help both babies regardless of ANYTHING. I can't believe some of these answers, it breaks my heart to know how cold hearted people have become. The crack baby did not choose to have crack in his/her system, he/she did not smoke the crack his/herself and the baby from another country did not choose to cross the border into the U.S. Shame on every cold hearted, selfish American, makes me embarrassed to be a part of this country with such horrible people calling themselves Americans.

If I were forced to choose, it would be an anchor baby because crack babies usually grow up to be mentally retarded and I wouldn't be able to deal with it; they make a whole bunch of noise and run around a lot, which I find VERY annoying. It just occurred to me that the term "anchor baby" seems to be a derogatory term. I would rather use the term "babies from other countries."

I love babies. It's not like if you were in a situation where you had to help one or the other, they would be branded. This one is the "crack baby" and this one is the "anchor baby". That question isn't really fair. Common.

Lately the way illegals are coming into this country,they are both the same, anchor and crack babies are from illegal crack parents,and we as taxpayers because of greedy politicians get stuck with the bills

Once they are here it isn't an issue of not giving someone emergency aid. The point is not letting those who don't belong here be here to begin with. And after giving emergency aid, I think deportation should be routine. (I'm for amnesty for screened illegals if the problem is fixed going forward, but I see NO WAY to maintain decent education and services for our own people if we take the position that it is too hard hearted to enforce our laws.)
I think the crack baby sounds like they need it more, as far as emergency aid goes.
bunt - you are wrong. That some states won't cut off benefits to illegal minors, feeling they have less realistic option to leave without their parents doesn't make them legal.

I'd help them both at the same time.Raise them together that way the anchor baby can help out the crack baby when they get older and start going to school.yup,I'll tell you what....
