I would bring the prescription pill bottles, with the info.
It's a pain in the neck, but not as inconvenient as being stopped and questioned.
Good luck.

I recently flew London to Pisa with a plastic bag full of mixed pills in my suitcase and had no problems at all but I think it would depend on the prescription and what country you're flying to. If you're pills contain anything that can also be found in illegal drugs I would bring the prescription just in case. Some countries are very fussy about people taking any kind of drugs through their borders, a friend of mine once got interviewed by police for taking paracetamol into Dubai! So research this before you go.

I have done a bit or traveling with prescribed meds in an Advil bottle. I never had a problem as they only x-ray and rarely check that in depth unless large quantities. The worse thing that can happen is they say no and have to throw them away. Is it worth it or not, that is the question. I would say carry them in a pill bottle unless there is a large amount. And by the way....ROLL TIDE!!!

Having flown 10 years for business, I can tell you the best thing to do is keep your medication in the original containers and pack them in a carry-on. This way there is no question as to who the meds are prescribed to and no worries if your checked luggage and you get separated. Also, don't take "just enough" to cover your trip as you never know what can happen with the weather, the carrier, etc.

You either need the bottles, with the labels, or something from the doctor that states what exactly you were perscribed. It's just easier to take the bottles they came in, really. They will definitely hassle you about the pills.

I think you have to have the bottle they come in. That way you can prove they are yours. Famous people get in trouble all the time because they say that they left the bottle at home, you would not want this to happen to you.

You must be my guardian angel, huh? I am going on a trip this weekend and would not have thought about that and would have taken my pill box. Whew! Old age must be getting to me!

I would make sure you have documentation that they are your prescription meds. You don't want to end up like Winona Rider minus the stealing!
