I don't know exactly how it starts but I have worked with it and have commonly found in a open wound, mostly from surgery, uraine and some time BM. I know it is a very nasty infection and is highly contagios and in some cases can take a very long time to heal mostly in the elderly because they heal slow.

MRSA is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus which is usually found in people who have been on multiple antipiotic therapies, although there are other ways on contracting the infection. It is also transmitted by direct contact. Working in a nursing home, I see people with it all the time. It is treated with Vancomycin, and the patient is usually put on contact precautions.
