No. We have no way of knowing, because OCD was not a diagnosis when they lived.
I also hear that all these great people were supposedly depressed or bi-polar, like Lincoln, and daVinci, etc... I even heard some documentary say that we "know for a fact" that certain famous people in the past were depressed and bipolar. The FACT is, we DON'T know.
This stuff is put forward to make sufferers of bipolar, depression, OCD, etc. feel better about themselves. It's a lot of BS.
The implication is that if you suffer a mental illness, somehow you are great and will be famous etc.... which is BS. Genius is genius, whether it resides in a normal brain or a whacked brain. There have been millions of successful and ingenious people throughout history who had NO indication of mental illness.

Its not right for anyone to have OCD, but maybe thats what made them such great artists.
