RE:
What exactly does Te quiero mean in spanish? Te amo Same thing?

Even though both are translated the same way to English (I love you), the quiero is commonly used for friends, family and pets lol. Te amo is used for you wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend.
I like you is translated like "me gustas" that used here in Mexico could also mean "I want you to be my boy/girlfriend"

So, summarizing: te amo is a strong feeling, te quiero is strong but not a lot, and me gustas usually expresses the wish of having someone as a boyfriend.

Te quiero means I like you, te amo means I love you. Te quiero DOES NOT mean I want you. The people who told you it means that used an online translator. Online translators are not 100% accurate and them telling you that te quiero means I want you is just an example of this.

both mean I Love You...but you may say te quiero to a friend but te amo is a more powerful word, like to a partner or really good friend.

Te quiero means like "I love you" in a way of "Im fond of you, I care about you", you usually say Te quiero to your dad, mom, sister, friend, etc
You rarely say Te amo to these people above...

When you say Te amo, it means like "I love you" in the romantic way, "I love you with all my heart" "I will always love you" etc
You usually say this to your lover, girlfriend..but also you can say Te quiero and Te Amo to a lover, girlfriend...

Te quiero, literally means, " Iwant you", but is used in the sense of "I love you" not just an expression of lust. Te amo, literally means " I love you". They can both be used to express love, but only te quiero can be used to express just a physical craving.
