I think it's called a Maine Coon - because it looks like a wild cat. Plus they have good personalities.

I think that Dutch cats are the most useful breed. They are excellent at catching mice, in fact they are probably the best breed in the world at that. In fact ,if you had a cat that was half dutch,or even a quarter dutch they would still be excellent for catching mice. Less than a quarter dutch then I am not so sure.
I remember a friend of mine who was plagued with mice who happened to be passing a pet shop and saw a kitten in the window with a sign saying "Kitten for sale--part Dutch". Knowing how important it was that the young feline was at least a quarter dutch he entered the shop and asked the proprietor
"HOW DUTCH IS THAT MOGGIE IN THE WINDOW"??

Egyptian Mau.
They're a very unusual breed of cat and rather rare. Beautiful speckled coat (though mine was a gorgeous blue-grey nearly solid male at 30 lbs!!), short haired, much larger than an average cat and they don't tend to be as noisy or boisterous as most cats - even as kittens.

Maine Coon Cat. Smart, affectionate and beautiful pets of dog-like size and deadly hunters when provoked by vermin. Also very conversational with a great sense of humor; a major failing in other breeds.

Maine Coons are my favorite cats. They are laid back and tend to quietly observe what you're doing. Maine Coons are more like buddies than pets. The one my aunt has likes to get in a recently used bathtub and get his fur damp. I think it's because his predecessors came from a cold, wet environment.

Any cat will do. Long its a domestic, not a wildlife tiger/lion/leopard/panther.
2nd best cat is the Best purrer, happy, clean.
Actually any cat that does not spray its territory inside the house.

I love just the good old gray-striped domestic short hair. No breed, just street smarts and attitude! I have 2, they are indoor/outdoor--go where they want, when they want. They own the house and expect us to wait on them hand and foot. (And we do!)
