Just heard that Bush wants to relax Cuban immigration now. All we hear from him for years now is War on Terror. Now he wants to let a bunch more aliens in here. Is he nuts?

i fail to see how the war on terror is in any way connected to immigration, so you cant make a comparison on how bush wants to let cubans into the county.

I don't understand that, either. If Cuba is on the verge of finally ending communism, I would think Cubans would no longer get preferential treatment in immigrating to the US. Now is the time for them to stay home and put their country together properly! Not encourage them to leave!

I think he is thinking of if Castro dies and that situation goes south. I think he is also then planning to take a harder line against those who come illegally by boat. I think the relaxation is going to be for family members of those already here, and it is an asylum issue, rather than normal immigration.
In any event, that is how I read the write up.

Cuba isn't mexico and niether is china every country had a different relationship with each other. Since Castro is dying what would you expect?
Though I am unsure why he didn't stipulate sending all the hard core prision population first. That's what Castro did last time.

From Cuba? Wow, but I bet people will still call them Mexican, I don't get people sometimes. Come on, they are not illegals, they are REFUGEES, that means that they'll get the same rights as citizens and a free trip here because they couldn't rise up, start a revolution and kick fidel out.
