I know u may or may not care. But it worked for me.
I read the the 1st. Chapter of John in the New Testament.
Found a church and been going for a while yet.
I know what anger and depression is. I could compose a book on it. I am a 3 time and 3 different type cancer survivor.
My daughtered married a guy who I knew was bad for her.
I was correct, the divorce was final 2 weeks ago. But i am a
grandad.
Oh yea had to kick a pain killer adiction. There is a lot more but
i would not bore u with the details. But it works.
Been on a bunch of anit deppresants, anxiety pills and such.
I do not need them any more.
I also will be going tback to work soon.
I am a Professional Land Surveyor a very stressfull job.
Read a little and find out why u pray.
Hope u do fine. Anger is hurting u more that anyone else.

i think to tackle your emotions directly rather than letting steam build up is good way and if it is really upsetting you seeing a councellor can be very good even if only 1 or 2 visits, sometimes sitting in chair and deep breath for a while and be honest with yourself maybe even write down your frustrations and important to let out any emotions. when i was in similiar state i took up thai boxing just to physically let off steam but so so important to deal with mental state as even boxing 2 hours a day will not make you feel any better. in a nutshell honesty with yourself and those around you and more physical activity will certainly improve state.

2 Let off steam, go 2 UR Local Charity/Thrift shop.
Buy up all the odd bits of crockery & smashing the hell outta it, so refreshing if U were lucky they had some odd glasses 2!
Who doesn't love the sound of breaking Glass?
When U've finished U look up on the Internet some good Meditation or Yoga sites & learn 2 control UR anger

I take it banging your head against the wall does not work any longer? I like using violent video games, like hitman Blood Money (just got that one yesterday) or any game where you get to act out agressions in a safe environment. Going to an online game where you get to kill other characters run by people (auto assault and World of Warcraft) can be helpful but there is only so much good that will do ya because they might win defeating the purpose.

It sound cliche, but counting does work. Close your eyes, count till you aren't angry any more. It might take a couple hundred.
Also, try thinking about WHY you are angry. A lot of anger comes from jealousy and self importance. Sometimes if you pinpoint why you are angry you can calm down and realize that it isn't that important.
Try distracting yourself, play a violent but easy video game.

Take a good 15 to 30 minutes and just relax. Picture yourself walking on a white sand beach, the waves lapping at your feet. Calmly tell yourself what you need to, for you, it would be... well, "I am calm... Anger is not a virture, nor a part of my life..." Use your own words. It's applicable in other situations as well.

Tip One: Scream, yell, curse and threaten bodily harm... just do it all silently.
Tip Two: Remember that you cannot control what other people think, feel, believe, say, or do. All you can really control is how you react to it. NO reaction means it isn't important.
Tip Three: If tip one and two do not help, I recommend some hot sweaty sex. It might not lessen the problem that got you angry to begin with but you will still feel better. :-p`

Go for a brisk walk and do some breathing exercises. Try not to be upset about things that are beyond your control. Spend some time with some positive people and learn how to be at peace with yourself as well. Good luck and be well, hon.

When I get heated my husband will make me go in the basement and lock me in, so him or my kids don't have to hear my bullshit, and I throw **** around and take my aggretion out on the basement basically. When I'm done my husband usually knows, and will let me out or I'll go out the other door to the out side an ring the doorbell. It's a good way to get htings off your mind at least for me.
