Judging may not be a sin per se, but that doesn't make it any less objectionable. There is nothing that says, "thou shalt not shoo0t old women in the backside with thy bb gun, but I think we'd all agree that that would be wrong. The problem with being judgmental is that it makes the assumption that we (those in judgment of others) are in a position of greater importance than those we judge and are therefor qualified to pass judgment. As none of us is, indeed, anything but just another imperfect sinner, it is the place of none of us here on earth to pass judgment upon others.

its hypocritical to judge because you are no better than the people you judge.
It is a sin, if you know the right thing to do and then do the opposite, you are sinning. The Bible says on numerous occassions that you shouldn't judge people (matthew 7:1, Romans 2:1, for example) and if you judge knowing this you are sinning.

It says:
Matt 7:1 & 2
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
What part of "Do not judge" do you not understand? And yes it says that you will be judged according to your judgment of others but that is the consequence of your sin of judging in the first place.

I see it a bit different.. Jesus said "judge not" then a promise for breaking that command "or you will be judged". It is not judgment to tell the world what the consequence of sin is. If someone feels that you are judging when you tell them what happens to evil men they are being convicted by the Spirit of God not by our words. What is judgment..Telling someone that they are going to hell. What isn't judgment.. Telling someone that unrepentant sinners go to hell.. Jim

Judging is bad because then people start going to jail. We don't want that.
No it is bad because people will not like someone because of something they did, when the person is not a bad person after all. Then that person has less chance of having a good life cause everyone hates them.

You can judge all you want, but the final judgment will be from Jehovah God himself. Then you won't have to worry about judging your fellowman anymore. He can read hearts...you can't.

It is okay to exercise righteous judgment. However, be careful, lest ye be judged.
There may be sins that you are doing unknowingly that offend God as well. Pray to know your weaknesses. Sometimes our own weaknesses stem from the same genre.

I judge that you are worthy of the death penalty. Should I ever have a terminal disease, I would consider killing you and all other people I "judge" not to be worthy of life before I die.
