Probably, as there have been testing which can independently confirm that the dating methods within a certain time frame are reliable.

well Mostly by the decay of the flesh and taking into consideration of the climate and rainfall and temperature while the body was there. It is difficult to do but they usually can come up with an idea.. If the bones were carbon or radio dated then that would not be accurate as the basic assumptions of radio dating are greatly flawed..
Most murder victums are only at max a few years old.. After ten or so years it becomes pretty difficult.. Too much data is needed and is not always available..

If you date the bones of a person buried in a field for 20 years you need to take into consideration the weather and how deep they are and the soil. All of this data is available in most places.. To date something at millions of years you do not have any of the data available and even less flesh. When you start using radio carbon dating and don't know what happened to the earth in the time since then, you are having huge huge gaps in your information that are available in the murder case but not in the dino case.. You are also faced with a world flood that happened that had an effect. and also that God created the earth complete and with apparent age and this is impossible to factor in since we have no million year old scientist that kept track of things.. Too much info missing to be accurate..

The first literal man in the Bible is Abraham.

The story of Adam and Eve and Noah were not written by Moses but were existing scripture that Moses had in his possession. Complicated yes but not impossible to understand especially when Swedenborg goes over the law of correspondences.

They base the date of death on the decay of the body. The bones will be the same age (i.e. how old the person is) no matter how long the body sits.

They can not be dated to within months but rather years/decades. Called carbon testing. Radioactive half life and the like.
