You're right, it doesn't make any sense. These are people who claim to be "Christians", yet don't follow the Christian tenet to "live and let live". Instead, they try to further the papal patriarchy and suppress women.

I'm sorry but I kind of think you're wrong. On many levels quite frankly.
Firstly, the woman CAN use birth control, if she is going to get an abortion then obviously she didn't want a baby in the first place. Plus look at all the dieases she could get! I figure abortion should NOT be used as a form of birth control. I think it's different if you've been raped or was a victim of incest.
Secondly, {and this should be thought of more often} the baby is a child of the MAN and WOMAN! Why should she get to say "I'm not having this baby if you like it or not!"? Shouldn't the FATHER have a say? What if he wanted that baby? It's not fair at all. Father's need rights too.
Third and final. I think that you should have to have a paper signed by BOTH parents to have the abortion. I really think men get a raw deal here. Except if it's rape or incest then the women needs to have that choice by herself.

But I don't think it's fair that a woman can kill a man's child without his consent. By the way, yes I am a woman and I do beleive in women's rights. It's just not decent to give the man the option of raising the baby.

That's my thoughts anyway.

A man has every right to be at a an anti-abortion protest as a woman. It takes two people to make a child - a woman can not have a child by herself and it is not right for people to act like a man does not have a part in the birthing process.

Sperm + Egg = Baby

A woman has no right to kill a child. That's exactly what abortion is - the minute that the two elements are put together, you have a child. You have life. It is murder and everyone should be protesting murder.

Also, while it may be a woman's body - the child is not only the woman's. And since it isn't, a man should have a say in what a woman does to the child (that happens to be his as well or have people forgotten that?)

A woman is just the vessel for such a beautiful process. She will carry it for 9 months but hopefully both of the parents will be there to take care of the child.

If you are responsible enough to have sex, then you should be able to take responsibility for the effect.

There are so many other choices for women now - even if they do not want to take care of the child, they can put the child up for adoption, even leave the child at the hospital - no questions asked. So why is abortion still used?

Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control and I think anyone who is available to protest, should.

That's where your both right and wrong. where no one should tell a person what they can or cannot do with their body (legally) the child is both the woman's and the man's! Why should a man be forced to pay child support for a child he doesn't want yet he has no say so if child is brought into world? Now if having a child poses a safety or health risk that's a different matter. The man has no say so yet he is held libel for child if born. If a man chooses to raise the child why is his feelings ignored? If its going to be a choice then both parties should have a choice wouldn't you say!? You cant have it both ways and be fair. A man has a right to protest a woman aborting his child. Yes the child body belongs to woman but the child belongs to both! If you give man no say so then he should not be held financially libel for child since he had no say so in matter!~

Most anti-abortion people are Christian in this country. The male Christian mentality looks on females as inferior and feel that the females have no right to decide what to do about their own pregnancy. Many of these men are against abortion even if the pregnancy puts the female's life and health at risk. They also feel a rape victim should have the baby if she gets pregnant. I imagine you didn't know all this but your instincts to get mad at these anti-abortion males is a good one.

Men have been controlling women and women's bodies forever.
(Well, hey, women have a secret influence on many or most men; and I noticed a study that showed that women are the motivating factor behind circumcision. So maybe they're getting even. If only on the next generation. Whether the argument is beauty or function or public health.)

What bothered me was to read how women contribute to their own lack of control. And how, in Africa for example they are the enforcers: of FGM and other outrages upon women.

We all know the hypocrisy of anti-abortion, pro-death penalty. Both are simply matters of overwhelming control. Until now, only Lysistrata knew what to do.

First off your partially right.

But a person does not have to be directly impacted by an event to have an oppinion on the morality of it.

Also, rare as it may seem there are at least a few guys out there who would be willing to take responsibility for the child, once born, since they are a large part of the reason it exists.

Here are a few other similar thoughts:
Do you have to be a fashion designer or even just a tailor to have an opinion on fashion?
Do you have to know someone on death row or know someone who has been killed to have an opinion on the death penalty?
Do you have to be a warrior to have an opinion on the morality of war?

Abortion right or wrong says something about us as a nation. It says that we are willing to end life (or the possiblity of life) as a convienence as an answer to a lack of preperation or thought regarding a few moments of pleasure.

The people who protest believe that women or anyone else have to right to take a life that can't speak for themselves and that just because it's in the woman it is still another life. What if you were aborted? You wouldn't like it very much.

Hey, I'm just telling you what they think.

uh well, it takes a man and a woman to make a baby so, why shouldn't he have any rights? There actually are men out there that have feelings and opinions and I think it's great if some actually come out and try to stop such a terrible thing. I'd hate to imagine my life without my daughter, abortion was a thought but not a serious one, and now the thought that it ever even was a thought makes me sick!

Perhaps these are the few men who are willing to take responsibility for their involvement with the child. Why would that anger you?

I, personally, am not anti-abortion, but I would rather there not be a need for abortions by couples taking responsibility PRIOR to the pregnancy. With the ease in obtaining contraceptives, abortion should not be a method of birth control.

i didnt even get to read all the answers before i almost went ballistic!!

first off, most fanantic men are just fanatic men. Being christian has nothing to do with it. a$$holes are a$$holes regardless of religion. My stepfather is a christian and has never shown me nothing but love since he came into my life. My mother on the other hand is a psycho biatch who will never come back into my life. and she was christian. Now, bringing back the abortion protesters, my mother dragged me to those rally's. Any male there was only there because their wife dragged them, because a girl they liked was there, or because their mother dragged them. Any male that was "overly" enthusiastic about pro-life was a nutcase before he was a christian to begin with.

just like Bin Laden isn't a muslim a$$hole, he's just an a$$hole!

I was brought up pro-life. Do I believe abortion should be legal? YES!! i have my reasons. have i ever had one? no. i chose to make other options for myself because i had that opportunity. But if i did not have that opportunity i may have made another choice. BUT IT WAS MY CHOICE!!

Do men have a right to tell us what to do? never! same as we women should not be telling them what to do. Do they have an opinon? Absolutely! if they were able to change someone's mind about having an abortion because they want responsibility of that child, they should be given the opportunity. without force. I firmly believe that if a man wants the child, and the woman is WILLING to give her time for him to have the child, it should be made a court order for her to give up parentage and any rights as well as responsibility of child support in the future.

Same as if the mother should keep the child without his consent, he should be able write off his responsibilites.

But this all has to be done before the mother is 3 months.

This could be my twisted world on it, but then i make my choices.
