Thin is considered healthier than skinny.. some people are naturally thin, if you're skinny you need to eat a little more and work out.

People will call thin people "skinny" to make themselves feel better, or to compliment the person.

Thin is usually seen as healthy, but skinny is just telling you that you need to eat, if your skinny you can probably be compare to those children in the world vision comercial in which you cand see the bones, specially the shoulders, elbows, ribs, and Knees, OH and no skinny is not attractive.

Being "thin" is looking more shapely and toned; a good figure. "Skinny" usually applies to those who are either naturally skeletal, or have an eating disorder. I'd take being thin over skinny any day.

Skinny - someone who is small, without much muscle or fat. "All Skin" without much muscle or fat. Out of shape skinny people often have "fat parts" of their body, like a soft tummy or "saddle bags" on a girls' hips.

Thin is more than skinny, usually with some muscle, and maybe with some extra fat. If you exercise a little, and watch your weight, you're not good shape, not great shape, but you're not skinny.

Just my take on these words.

Usually when someone says that someone is "thin", they just mean that they don't have any extra weight on them. But, when someone calls somebody "skinny"--they usually mean they don't have enough fat on them or have little shape (curves).
