In John 13 he goes around washing his friends feet. Did he have a foot fetish? He then tells them they should wash each other's feet too. Was it some sort of foot orgy?

It was at their last super. Usually in those days they cleaned their hands and feet before eating. Jesus was showing humility taking a job of a servant. He wanted to show his disciples that if they want to be a good leader they have to be a good servant. That's what Jesus meant when he told his disciples to wash others feet. He meant to be a servant thinking of other peoples needs before theirs. Jesus' whole life on earth was about humility in leadership. God himself took form of a man, one of the lowest forms to live and be with us. Then die to take our punishment for our sins! Wow! Jesus was a great example one that all should try to follow!

We can joke that it was foot fetish, which is kind of funny, but it is common in counties in the area to wash one's feet because the ground is so dusty.

Even in Egypt now, there are shoe shines everywhere! It's just to keep people's feet clean and not mess up the floor.

Ludd,
Even those who call themselves Christians, largely miss the points He was trying to make to His disciples. First of all, He could read their minds. These poor, misguided individuals, just didn't get the fact, that Jesus didn't come to establish an earthly kingdom, but a Spiritual one. They were all thinking to themselves, about what important Cabinet positions they would hold in the hoped for kingdom of Israel. In fact, they were arguing about it, on the very night that He would lay down His life. The customs of the times, demanded that the feet of guests be washed, for hygienic and aesthetic reasons. This task normally fell to the servants of the house. Jesus, the acknowledged Teacher and Master of these men, who they thought was the soon to reign King, began to wash their filthy feet. They were shocked, to say the least. He then told them, that whoever among them wanted to be the greatest, must become the servant of all. I think that there was a little bit of general confusion at that point. He was trying to remind them, that in the Spiritual Kingdom of God, your status, is based on your humility, and love. If you hold yourself to be better than others, and refuse to stoop down to serve someone lower than yourself, you have no place in God's Kingdom. Your ego, won't fit through the door that leads to the Kingdom.

Since you missed the whole concept of what and why Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, there is no need in trying to explain it.

Try a bit of humbleness and humility with your fellow man and maybe you will come to understand.

That was a custom because they wore sandals and the roads were dusty. When you entered someones house the slaves washed your feet. No one wanted to do the work of a slave.
Jesus was teaching them a lesson in humility.
Don't ever feel to good to do any job.
Proud arogant people cannot enter the kingdom of god.

Washing the feet of the apostles was an act of humility. Servants normally performed this task. Jesus was taking on a role of servant before his Passion and Death.

Jesus' act is an example of that humble, selfless service, even to the most menial deeds of kindness that characterizes the true disciple-servant who shares with him his master-servant role in his Kingdom. His kingdom is not a realm where some are great in authority and privilege and others are slavish in lowly service. In his kingdom the greatest is the least-the servant of all. This is his final lesson to his disciples.

I'm guessing that since walking was the main mode of transportation in those days that taking care of one's feet was more important back then and cleaning someone else's feet was a sign of respect and/or friendship.

Interestingly, the areas that map tactile sensation in the brain for the genitals are very close to the areas that do so for the feet. It is possible that stray nerve impulses stimulate the adjacent area, leading people to associate the feet with genital pleasure.

Bet you weren't expecting that nerdy answer. PPPPPPTTTTHTHHHTHTHTHHHHHH!!!!!
