by overcooking the noodles, you usually only have to cook the pasta in boiling water for about between 8-11 minutes and thats it. If over than that the pasta will eventually stick to eachother and become hard.

A great way to eliminate sticky pasta is to pour a little olive oil on top of your pasta and massage it through the pasta. Your pasta will not be sticky, even if you place it in the refrigerator as a leftover.
