I saw a bird outside work today that I had never seen before, and later found out a woman had lost a rare bird from South America. Now I can't find anything but North American bird-watching sites, and it's driving me crazy. Be much easier if I had the name of the bird, but such is life. Anyone have any good sites??

I have done searches on yahoo & google already, & seen different sites...but you have to know the country it is from, there is no general section, and sites with lots of info seem to have NO pics. :-(

ok, I'll describe it... it was larger than a crow, white belly, brown back, a black collar on it's neck, big black beak, and a small brown point on top of it's head. I found a picture in an audubon book that looks kind of like it ..."Pomarine Jaeger".
But the wings aren't as pointy, and it has a crest. The guy at work says the owner feeds it fruit and stuff, but he has memory problems, so he could be wrong. Also this "Jaeger" is an oceanic bird, and we're in Minnesota, so I'm pretty sure it's not it. I wouldn't be so into this, but the woman who lost it is giving a $5000 reward, so if anyone can help, and I can actually catch the bird, I will share some of the money.
