You don't really need an attorney in the NYC area since immigration law is practiced all over the country and is not limited by state law since it's federal related law. Most of the work is done via correspondence with clients all over the country. If you really need someone in NYC, go to www.aila.org and ask them for a referral. Most reputable immigration attorneys are members of AILA.

look on the Internet for a lawyer that handles deportation and visas. they are normally the cheapest. or you can look up immigration law project and if you don't make too much money they will help you for free. that's who's helping me
