Think real hard on that question. There are two cultures in the middle east. There are your modern Islam population and then there is the radical islamist (Iran, Syria). This skirmish between Lebanon Hezbollah and Israel is the just the beginning. We all know Iran is behind it. Iran wants to take the whole middle east and covert it back to a radical islamist regime. That is why the other Arab countries are not cutting ties with the US. Have you also noticed that Iraq states they will be ready this year to take over security in their country. If that is so, why is the US building up military strength over there. .....Lots of questions......This President knows what he's doing.

Perhaps the countries you mentioned are trying to be responsible Muslim countries?? (unlike other Muslim countries). Furthermore, those countries you mentioned are notorious for killing the extremists, especially Egypt that have killed many over the years who have made any threats or serious opposition to President Mubarak.

That is how you deal with extremists! Eliminate them. Muslims know very well that the only way to deal with enemies is by eliminating them. Through conditioning over the centuries, the Muslims have been taught by the regime to shut up, or else. Enemies were killed without due process, many innocent people.

Here we are not talking about innocent people. We are talking about terrorist and their backers. They must be and will be eliminated. Lets hope that the Muslims world will finally allow freedom to reign.

As for your question, my personal opinion is that we are the primary customer for their primary export. They have a vested interest in keeping their big customers happy as their economy relies on it. Unfortunately, with China growing at it's current pace the US will eventually wield less influence as a customer. The major players know this and I believe that it is, at least in part, responsible for the shift in dynamics we have seen in the Middle East over the past several years.
