Three men have the same meal each and get a bill for 30 dollars. They pay 10 each. It is then discovered by staff that the bill should have been only 25. The waiter is told to take 5 singles back to them but decides to pocket 2 and give them back 3. This now means that they paid 9 each for their meal, totaling 27. Add 2 which the waiter took = 29. Where is the missing dollar?

But if they ACTUALLY get three back, it DOES mean they only paid 27, addeed to the two is 29!

Why are you adding the two dollars from the Waiter? That is included in the 27. Remember, they paid 25, but the waiter pockeds two, that's 27. Add the three they got back, and it equals 30.

The facts in this riddle are clear: There is an initial $30 charge. It should have been $25, so $5 must be returned and accounted for. $3 is given to the 3 friends, $2 is kept by the bellhop - there you have the $5. The trick to this riddle is that the addition and subtraction are done at the wrong times to misdirect your thinking - and quite successfully for most. Each of the 3 friends did indeed pay $9, not $10, and as far as the friends are concerned, they paid $27 for the night. But we know that the clerk will tell us that they were charged only $25 and when you add the $3 returned with the $2 kept by the bellhop, you come up with $30.

ok the waiter's $2 is already in the $27 and then the three men $3 adds it up to $30. so $30, but the bill was only $25 then the waiter takes $2 ($25 + $2 equals to $27 then the men each get $1 adds up to $3 then $27 +$3 equals to $30)

It doesn't.
30 dollars - 5 = 25 dollars.
Add the three he gave back is 28, not 27.

It would mean that they paid 28 dollars. If the waiter pocketed two dollars...30 minus two is 28!!! Thus, they each paid $9.33333333!!

maximum churches have strict regulations- contributors get month-to-month statements detailing the options and prices. There are literally not a lot of human beings licensed to jot down a examine on the church account, many times they want approval of atleast another licensed man or woman to finish that. yet, the picture of our own expenses they could bypass to the monetary corporation and get a replica of the fact or maybe images of the checks to substantiate who wrote what examine to whom. the fellow to blame for depositing the money must have a receipt, and no matter if or not they have the receipt or no longer it is going to prepare on the fact.
