That same 1300 miles costs $8 in an electric vehicle. Yes! EIGHT DOLLARS! (4 miles per kilowatt-hour, and we have an 'EV charging rate' for electric cars here of 2.5 cents per kwh.) The fuel savings, plus EV tax breaks will almost cover the monthly payments on that Miles car above.

There are plenty of Hybrids to chose from ! What are you YELLING for?
Do a little homework before buying.
There are many different types of hybrid technology.
I don't mean different makes & models.
I mean, full hybrid, mild hybrid, plug in hybrid, serial hybrid, etc.

Figure out which one fits your driving habits & needs best.

Since I sell cars, I have the ability to try them all out, & have many rescourses to study & experiment with.
My most recent 'experiment' is between an 05 Honda Accord Hybrid (mild = only shuts off the gas engine at stops, if you aren't using the a/c) & a 4x4 Ford Escape Hybrid (full= shuts off the gas engine at stops & at speeds below 35 mpg & also has 3 a/c selections, 2 of which don't have to use the gas engine)
My gas mileage is 8 miles per gallon better with the Ford.
My mileage is more than doubled in the Hybrid Escape vs non-hybrid Escape. & would be even better if it wasn't 4x4.

Ford is also comeing out with a Hybrid Escape that can also burn E85.

oh yea, did i mention Ford has also already sold fully electric vehicles & Flex-fuel vehicles & other alternative fuels vehicles, (most recently Hydrogen Fueled) as well as hybrids & has been doing so for alot longer than any other manufacturer ?

If you buy one, they will listen. By purchasing a hybrid, all manufacturers see another unit was sold so they all "hear you". If enough people are buying hybrids, the manufacturers will produce more if they are profitable, so yes, they will certainly care if they can make money at it. Companies are in business to make money. Talking about it will get you nowhere, but buying a hybrid will get your voice heard.
