i'm going to a barbeque with my boyfriend tonight. I don't know if I should dress....?

well he's not actually my boyfriend but we're going on a date and we like eachother and stuff but i'm going to say boyfriend on here. My boyfriend's best friend is having a barbeque at his grandma's house (we're 15 and I know his bffl's grandma and family and we were supposed to go on a bowling date but he had to cancel and invited me to the barbeque instead. Should I wear a teeshirt and jeans and jewlery and fix my hair up cute and dress as if it was like a dinner date or what? Please, no "be yourself" or "show a lot of cleavage" I need advice on what to wear and stuff. I'm going to be around his friends and family and I'm meeting his mom.

i was thinking jeans from aeropostale with a few rips in the knees (they came like that) and they're got like these beads things on the butt and pockets. maybe with a brown teeshirt that says aero on it with a blue like longsleeved cowgirl type shirt under it with the collar folded over it and the sleeves pushed up some and either flip flops that say roxy or some brown shoes that look like dock martins.

or i have these silver ballet flats but they kill my heels they rub the back of them and make blisters and you can't wear socks with them because they look stupid because there's an open spot in the top front of the shoes.

Definitely dress casually. Jeans/T-shirt, and not TOO much effort into the hair/makeup/accessories. Barbecues are always casual, and besides, this is a "dump date" - he doesn't deserve you at your peak! =)

Oh, and you already knew this, but don't wear white. It attracts BBQ sauce like nothing else.

Dress up in a nice casual shirt, not a t shirt and jeans and some jewelry and light cute make-up. The natural look makes you look cute and not aggressive or too flirty for the mom to see you. Enjoy yourself, joke around and you'll see everything will go fine. Good Luck

I agree with many of the responses here about being yourself & dress to be cute & respectful. Remember, it's not just the 2 of you there. You're going to be around his mother & grandmother as well as with some of his friends. Don't show no cleavage, don't wear anything tight. Dress for comfort, but for cuteness too. well you should where something cute like a cute t-shirt and a pair of jeans and flip flops and i think you should be fine because bbq's aren't really a dress up event even though you are meeting his family look cute but don't make it look like you tried to hard if you know what i am saying.

Dress like it is for a date. You like this guy right? Nothing too much though since his family will there. Make yourself look cute. Still go with the jeans though. Remember 1st impressions are everything!!!

Wear something that is age appropriate...jeans and a cute tshirt or a denim skirt and tshirt with a pair of sandals. You definitely do not want to over-dress for the occasion. Remember, first impressions count!

I'd choose a nice sundress, unless you plan on playing some game where your liable to show your panties. Don't go overboard with jewelry or makeup. Hair up if it's really hot or you're afraid you'll look droopy in a couple hours. I'm sure he'll see you in jeans the next time you go bowling. Show him you're a lady. :)

Don't go nuts, but definitely dress conservative if you are around family. A nice sun-dress is classy and will get this guys attention. It's cute, but usually not over the top.
