You have new skin! Congrats. Take care of it and it will be healthy. It may be a different color now, but will eventually turn into the same color. Keep it hydrated and protect it from burns - including sun damage. Your weakness for skin cancer is higher now. Better cover up.

I had a really bad second degree burn on my foot when I was younger. I remember having a nice scar there. Eventually as I grew older the scar disappeared and it looks normail.. Don't ask. Maybe I'm some sort of genetic freak. I got it went i was around 12 or 13, i remember when I hit 21 it was gone, scar and all.

Our skin is an amazing thing. It is actually considered the body's largest organ. all cells re-grow - even brain cells - although their regrowth is slow. Skin from cadavers (dead bodies) is used to help severe burns heal. Your skin can even be grown in a petri dish to become sheets used for grafts on severe burns.

Yes it will... However, it's very sensitive to light, so it will tan first when exposed, and will tan darker than the rest of your skin... So as soon as you see pink, put some sunblock lotion on it, the highest SPF available. You'll be happy you did. If possible, put clothing on that area.
