Because it is a sexist oranization, no matter what they tell you about women being "reveared." Revered is not the same as equal.

Ah that is in the Catholic Church under the Vatican rule. There is a little known Catholic church that is not under the vatican. It is the holy catholic church of Antioch. They follow the teachings of St. Timothy not Paul. I have a friend that is a catholic priest in the church in Palmdale California. This section of the catholic church broke off at the council of Nicea. They did not want to follow the Pope and his plans for the church which became driven by money and land. Think about it. How big are roman catholic churches and how fine are the decorations and such. The Vatican is the riches country per capita in the world.

If it is the same as the Christian church, then the reason is that the Bible teaches against it. Women are to submit to their husbands' authority, but men are to love their wives as Christ loved the church...even lay down their lives for them. We are to be a picture of Christ and the church. Men/Women = Christ/church If you invert the formula to where women are the head of the men then we must also invert the formula on the other side. The church then becomes the head of Christ. This simply doesn't work. It doesn't mean that women are less worthy or important. No, the Bible is clear that ALL parts of the body of Christ are important. Hope this helps.

After all this scriptural "proof" I find it interesting that other Christian denominations allow women to lead the congregation of faith. Even Anglican churchs now have women priests.

Seems strange is all. And if one goes back to Medieval times, I think you can find instances of Abbesses having enormous power in the Roman Catholic Church. So, one does wonder.

Kind of reminds one of why some folks say women cannot be Masons - which of course they can be (in Co-Masonry).

SEXISM.... pure and simple sexism....
men have such weak egos that they have to belittle women to feel adequate.
I left the church over this issue.
Nuns should be able to serve Mass as well as the Priests do.
I wanted to be an alter boy and light the candles ..... BUT NOOO
that just couldn't be allowed.

the church is run by men who have never had sex (supposedly)
and they have no clue about womens abilities.
I could go on about this but I think I have answered the Q so I'll quit now.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

With love in Christ.

The Bible always speaks of Pastors, Elders, Bishops and deacons as a He...meaning it is a role for a male.

Women are also not to be teachers of men in the church.

Women are supposed to be very active teaching their own children. They are allowed to teach children in the church.

Unfortunately, men are willing to let women teach because they are lazy AND women are willing to force themselves into a role God gave to men.

Women are supposed to teach, and God has told them who they are to teach.

I have seen many women teach the church about the Bible and neglect their own children. Two of these women teachers have not taught their own children and now they have left the faith.

This is a common point between Catholicism and Islamism. According to the two religions, though not officially declared, Woman is impure.

Simple, because "she" is wisdom.
Having wisdom suggests that God has granted unto us all the ability to think for ourselves. That is explicitly not what the catholic church is about.

"24
For wisdom is more moving than any motion: she passeth and
goeth through all things by reason of her pureness.

25
For she is the breath of the power of God, and a pure
influence flowing from the glory of the Almighty: therefore can
no defiled thing fall into her.

26
For she is the brightness of the everlasting light, the
unspotted mirror of the power of God, and the image of his
goodness.

27
And being but one, she can do all things: and remaining in
herself, she maketh all things new: and in all ages entering
into holy souls, she maketh them friends of God, and prophets."

Also, did you know that according to the Bible, God appointed women as prophets as well as men?

Pastors are in Christianity. the word YOUR looking for is Priest, or father.
a woman can NOT be a priest because men are the ones who lead the mass. Jesus was a male, so naturally, men are the ones who are priests, they follow Jesus's ways.
