Pediasure is basically a multi-vitamin mixed with a low fat, lactose free milkshake. It is safe for anyone who can take a vitamin and are not allergic to any of the ingredients. But if you have any questions, you should ask your doctor or your kid's doctor. It's always a good idea to let them know of everything being taken, even if it is just Pediasure.

Compared to what? Soda? or Regular food?
It's NOT a meal replacement, but if you have a VERY picky eater, who is prone to not being able to keep weight on (or is recovering from a virus that hampered their eating habits) then it's fine to add in just to get extra calories into them.
