I know that fruits turn into carbs, and I eat a lot of that, so I believe I need to cutback. Protein brings about muscle, but I just overall want a slim physique...Please advise...Thanks

Fruits don't turn into carbs - they contain carbs. You shouldn't cut back on fruit because they also provide you with energy, vitamins, and minerals. You should be eating at least 5 servings of fruits & veggies.

Protein can help with the building of muscle, but if you are a meat eater, you are probably already getting 3-4 times the amount of protein that your body needs. Your body can only use so much protein, the rest is flushed out by the kidneys and too much can cause kidney stones, kidney failure, and other problems.

I recommend eating a balanced diet that's lower in calories than what you are eating now. Also, do 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week, at a high pace low resistance level. Increase the time as you plateau. Do weight and resistance training with low level weights. Do 15 reps and 3-4 sets of each. Also consider taking Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet. All work on strengthening your body by using the weight of your body and typically don't build bulk.

Kraft has a great nutrition and workout journal that you can customize to your needs. They will give you a diet plan to help reach your goal. It's actually a really great tool!

Good luck to you.

Stick with fruit, it's good... seriously. Also, you could go for a hard-boiled egg. Some nuts are good. Celery sticks with peanut butter, or just plain. Carrots dipped in hummus are good too.

Protein doesn't bring about muscle if your not working yourself out to bulk up... there are exercises that bulk up and others that just make long lean muscles (smaller weights but more repetitions). Fruits are good because you will get fiber from them, vegetables too. Don't drink soda whatever you do, or juice. Stick with water and low fat milk. You can snack on cheese or low fat/fat free yogurt.

Good luck.

OK if the fruit isn't helping cause usually they say eat right and you'll loose weight. I know best form me is plenty of exercise . Drink ALOT of water. Well that for me usually fills me up. Don't forget about veggies. Try looking at our food pyramid and work out a plan for yourself and stick to it for a couple of weeks. Over time you might see changes. But I don't guarantee right away. Then if That doesn't work you should go tot he gym and find a nutritionist who knows they certain types of food and how much you should eat.
