How about cooking a nice dinner for him at home? Something simple with pasta a salad and some warm bread, a nice wine and you! A really nice dessert or an exotic ice cream, no waiting for service. I'm here near the hurricane recovery zone and the restaurants are not up to par yet, so to go out is not much fun. I think there's nothing better than a special meal at home.

The best rimantic place and to have dinner with your boyfriend is to have a night picnic in the park with a lot of candles around you.
Then you can lay down on the grass and look at the stars for a while.

I guess it depends on where you live. some cities have hole in the wall places that can be very romantic. like small authentic Italian restaurants, any place that has a private patio or balcony. if you look around your area you might be surprised at what you find. and don't be afraid to stop in and take a look at the menu and what they are offering as far as ambiance...
