Did is a word of achievement,
Won't is a word of retreat,
Might is a word of bereavement,
Can't is a word of defeat,
Ought is a word of duty,
Try is a word of each hour,
Will is a word of beauty,
Can is a word of power.
-- Unknown Author
"Here are three words that can turn your life around: 'up until now'. If you put them at the front of a sentence in which you are discussing a problem you are having, it will turn the whole thing positive. Say 'Up until now, I have been having a problem with xyz.' That way you acknowledge things need to be improved, and you give yourself the hope and encouragement that it can be done."
-- Edward W. Smith, Sixty Seconds To Success
"It is good to control your words and thoughts. The seeker who is in control feels free and joyful. Listen to that seeker who guards his tongue and speaks wisely. Such a one is humble and does not exalt himself."
-- Dhammapada
"It is not whether your words or actions are tough or gentle; it is the spirit behind your actions and words that announces your inner state."
-- Chin-Ning Chu
"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."
-- Mother Teresa
"Never accept words meant to hurt. Turn them back because they are the responsibility of the speaker. When you are caught off guard, hold the emotions in silence for a moment and tell them to be still. It takes longer to forget than it does to forgive - and time heals when we give it the power."
-- Joyce Sequichie Hifler (author, columnist, speaker, and philosopher)
"You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime."
-- Dale Carnegie
"We cannot always control our thoughts, but we can control our words, and repetition impresses the subconscious, and we are then master of the situation."
-- Florence Scovel Shinn Artist, Teacher and Author
"Words are alive. Cut them and they bleed."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
-- Rudyard Kipling
"Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world."

"Words must surely be counted among the most powerful drugs man ever invented."

As societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate, action: you liberate a city by destroying it. Words are to confuse, so that at election time people will solemnly vote against their own interests."
-- Gore Vidal, writer (1925- )
"So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth ... and prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
-- Isaiah 55:11 (The Bible, Old Testament)
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.
-- Omar Khayyam, 'Rubyiat'
"A careless word may kindle strife,
A cruel word may wreck a life,
A timely word may lessen stress,
A loving word may heal and bless."

how about making one of my own.
your problem about contentment is solved by yourself only. it is by our actions and decisions by what we choose to be that would make us feel contented and/or satisfied. you know what you want, you know how much you can do, then youve got to do up to your limits. so then, you will achieve what youve been desiring for your entire life.
was that good?
how about this.
this one came from the movie Maid in Manhattan, and it goes like this,
"To serve people takes dignity and intelligence. But remember, they are only people wiht money, and although we serve them, we are not their servants. What we do, does not define who we are. What defines us is how well we rise after falling."
good one right? i know. it got into my mind, memorization would be easy.

"Tell me who you're with, and I'll tell you who you are"
My mom use to say this quote to me all the time when I was growing up. And now as an adult, I understand exactly what she meant. It makes alot of sense.
