What exactly causes this and more importantly what can I do to get myself going again besides getting more sleep? Right now I feel incredibly stupid and am having trouble concentrating on my work.

sleep is required to regulate ur metabolic activities.lack of sleep .irregular sleep patterns slow down brains activity as a phase of metabolic activities have been disturbed.if u ave slept 4 hardly 2 hrs or smethng thre is no bttr way than 2 fall asleep otherwise have a cold shower,a cup of hot coffee if u have the habit will do good.or a cup of hot chocolate.its better to regulate sleep intervals as u may land up bcomung an insomniac that comes frm a condition called imsomnia that is lack of peaceful sleep. so hav a nap thtts the best suggestion

The fog like feeling is caused from you being over tired be extremely careful if and when driving as you may just find yourself falling asleep. If you are not a mormon then i recommend having a nice strong cup off coffee and a mars bar for a caffeine and glucose fix or just go home on the sick for today and rest. Good luck.

I'm really glad it was just one night for you because I have lived like that for 23yrs. (since I was 28). I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and at this late date I don't expect to ever get rid of these symptoms plus many more. I don't mean to be depressing but I thought you might feel better since it was just one night, which I realize can still be very agitating. Good luck!!!

Probably just stress. I wouldn't worry about it unless it goes on for a week or more. Then I'd see my doc.

Visit the coffee pot a lot. Nothing stronger, of course.

You might have drank too much pop and ate too much sugar. Why won't you go for a nap or just rest and then you can feel better and not lazy.
