I have a Revlon combination hair-straightener and large barrel curling iron. It cost about $20, and I prefer it to others I've tried (my sister spent $150 on hers, and it doesn't do as good of a job - she always comes over to borrow mine! LOL)

I use Redkin Straighten gel #5...it's about $5 or so. Of course I only have wavy hair and super curly hair. I would probably go to your local salon and ask the girls there. they can recommend some products that may help super curl hair if that your issue. Also, try a straightening iron.

I've tried several (4 to be exact). I bought 2 cheaper ones, and one really expensive model (over $65 for it). Then, I bought one from WalMart. I've attached a link for you below to see what the model and everything is. You can find this brand/model almost anywhere. My hair is really thick and the cheaper ones didn't work at all. The really expensive worked ok but my hair frizzed in the humidity. This Conair model blew them all out the water. My hair was so silky straight (which was a MIRACLE) and didn't frizz in the humidity/rain either. (I live in Florida)
Their website lists price at $42.99 but I bought at Walmart for less than $30. (I think 25.99?)
Good luck.

i honestly only spent $9 for my hair straightener...i don't remember the name, but i got it at walmart and it is great. it came with a set of "guide teeth" for easier straightening. even my SIL, who swears by salon quality hair care products, loves it.
