Other people about £5.00 an hour, but family you do for love, and if they choose to give you something in return, well that is great, I never believe we should profit out of our own family and what a sad world it is if we can not do something for our own family without wanting money. BUT on the other hand I am sure that if you did it without asking for money you just might make them feel guilty and not want to take advantage of you so you might even end up with more ,who knows. Good luck and whatever you do please remember that the kids are the most important part of this equation and look after them kindly and well.LOL

Is it cos they are going on hols or something? So you'll have the kids 24/7 for the week or do you mean regularly every day for a week? If the former I'd say 200 pounds isn't unreasonable but also make sure they give you money for the kids say for trips or the odd ice cream. If it's a regular weekly thing...... 5 pounds an hour.....? I'd say 6 for anyone else but as it's family you can't up the stakes too much! =)

Have fun with the kids!

Depending on your and their financial situation it can range. As daycare centers in NJ can cost up to $1200 a month for an infant, that is like $400 a week. I paid a woman (not a family memeber) $125 a week to watch my daugher for 40 hours a week.

You need to discuss this with the family member.

My mom watches my two sons (29 months and 13 months) Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we pay her $200 per week. I think this is reasonable since she can eat whatever of our food she wants, she can nap when the boys nap, the hours are flexible (we won't fire her for coming in 10 minutes late or leaving 15 minutes early, lol).

Normally I'd say nothing but that depends on how close a family member.

How many hours a day? I'd cut in half what they'd have to pay for a day care adding according to how holy terrorish the kids are.

FOR FREE its your family and family's are meant to be there to help and support each other. My sister has my two boys every Saturday from 5pm till sunday at 12 noon and never asks me for a penny she even buys them nappies and wipes etc just to keep at her house for when she has them

Both my childminder and our local nursery charge £3.50 an hour. With my childminder it includes nappies and food. Would you expect your family member to provide nappies and food? If yes, then you can probably come down in price. If no, then I think £3.50 is a reasonable rate.

Depends on the hours, but I'd go for £8 per hour minimum.
