You realize that that phrase wasn't always on the money? And here's an interesting point, the good Christian president Teddy Roosevelt felt that putting the word God on money was wrong, because it's blasphemous to have it on something so common.

No matter what you want to believe, this country was not founded as a Christian nation. The framers of the constitution and the declaration of independance were mostly deists (Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Paine, etc). John Adams and the congress of his day ratified the Treaty of Tripoli which states flat out that the United States is not a Christian nation.

In God we trust was added in the 1800s.
And "One Nation Under God" was added to the pledge in the 1950s as a governmental propaganda tool, a way to set the country as the opposite of communist Russia.

since when does being athiest make sence. you shouldn't be asking if they should use money, you should be asking how, with all the evidence there is, can some one still not believe in a holy and all-powerful God. for example, every time someone sees a piece of clothing they know it had a creater, every time some one sees a watch they know someone disgned it, every time someone sees a painting they know there is an artist who made it, and every time someone sees coke cans lined up they know there is no coincidence but there is an order. Now when you look at the universe we live in what do you see? Creation, disgn, art, and order. How then can some one say there is no God? That is the TRUE question.

"In God We Trust" was added on money in the 1950s along with the phrase "One Nation under God." This was to distinguish the USA from those "Godless Communists."

Take a look at some older money, and the mention of God isn't there. The United States was not founded on Christianity; there is a separation of Church and State.

Furthermore, checks and credit cards are religion-free!

No, giving consideration to the words of the bible, man cannot serve god and mammon - and render unto Caesar the things that are Caesars. (If you don't know the context, look them up).

It is wrong to put god's name on a piece of currency. We should be asking our government to remove it. It was only added a short while ago (1961), and it was the wrong thing to do.

Plus, Jews are not even allowed to write the name of g-d, so it is insulting for them.

I think money should be abolished anyways.. its really serves no purpose anymore, its only telling people that you have more of something than someone else. So if i had more corn than someone else, but they had more money, i'm not their equal? It doesnt work that way in my mind...

No. That's silly. Besides, I work with an atheist and he just crosses out that line with a black marker on all of his money.

I think you should stop using money. The Christians in this country far out number the non-beleivers. So please by all means, stop using money, starve and go meet your maker face to face.
