It is the nature of the beast. Cats sleep 85% of their lives. Actually they cat nap. She is more aware of what's going on than you think. She just doesn't react. It's beneath her feline ways. Seriously. I didn't mean that as a joke.

My cat was the same, and he just died last week at the age of 15. Your cat isn't old, she's just lazy and it's normal for cats to be lazy. Heck, if I had the choice I would love to move from sunny spot to sunny spot and just sleep. If you want your cat to be more active, engage her in activities. Get toys such as feather toys, or I have this one toy that is a string of felt on a plastic pole, your cat will love it. Or you can do simple training for treats (yup, you heard right, you can train a cat). Whatever you do, don't worry. Unless your cat displays other health problems (not eating, trouble breathing etc) the laziness is perfectly normal.

Some cats prefer to be low-key and sleep more. Plus, since cats are nocturnal animals, it's perfectly normal for her to sleep a lot of the day and be more in the mood to do her thing at night.
If your cat has always been this way (or it has been something that has been gradual), it is probably her personality. However, if she has suddenly gone from being playful and energetic to lethargic, it could be a sign of illness.

No, your cat is not old. He is four years old, so he is a mature cat, ans at this age cats are more lazy so all they want is sleep and eat, don't' worry. Maybe sometime he is going to leave the house for a while or a nigth or a day, they are strange sometimes.

Cats are nocturnal, they sleep during the day and come to life at night. If she ALWAYS sleeps, that is not normal. your cat is young, cats can live up to 14-20 years of age (depending on the breed), some even longer.
If she's not up and about at night, then take her to the vet, it could be a serious problem.

Thats just the way cats are. I have two. They beg for food, they overeat and throw it up on the carpet, then they go to sleep. After that they ask for more food.

my cat is 5 and does the same thing. it reminds me of garfield. you should play with her so she can get some excercise. they love feather toys. your cat isn't old. they live to be like 13 or older i think. however, if this is a new pattern, you should ask your vet to be sure she doesn't have anything.
