i live here in florence, you see them EVERYWHERE in the country side of florence. go by car, the only way. if you want a specific direction (as one of the many directions there are where you can find them) go towards the little town called Leccio, i was just passing through there 2 weeks ago and in fact stopped to cut some sun flowers to take home (make sure no one is watching!). if you go by car with someone who knows how to get there, Leccio is towards the direction of Inciso (where theres an entrance to the Autostrada A1).

I believe that since you have this question in the "ITALY" section of Yahoo Answers, you are asking about sunflowers in Italy, not Europe, Asia, America, etc....
Sunflower fields in Italy are quite abundant and you can find them anywhere from mid June to late September. Usually they are more prominent in the Central to Southern regions of Italy, not including the islands.
Traveling by train, I saw quite a few not only in fields, but also as regular flowers in peoples yards, gardens, etc.
Good luck in your search.

We spent 10 days in Italy, about 11 years in the past. It replaced into outstanding! I loved all of it yet Venice replaced into merely wonderful. the persons everywhere were SOOOOOO nice! And the cheese.... ahhhhhhhh.... i could not get adequate of the cheese! yet what i could really love to do is visit with a common Italian kinfolk, to work out how they stay. each of the vacationer places are large, yet i'm merely as in touch contained in the custom. If I ever bypass back there, i am going to work out if i am going to rearrange to visit with a common kinfolk.

The Dakotas are literally covered with them by summer. I already see the next 2 questions:
What and where are the Dakotas?
When is summer?
Good luck!!
