Without a doubt - men. I have friends who have been waiters and bartenders, and they tell me without question that men are better tippers.
I see the same thing when I go out. Most groups of girls tip lousy no matter how the service was. Men will usually tip at least 15% and even more for good service and/or a cute girl. Women do not tip more if the man is handsome.
The exception being that, as women get older, they will overtip a handsome young man that flirts with them.

My husband tips extremely well. I tip poorly because I don't feel anyone should get tips. I don't get a tip for all the hard work I do at the office - why should a waiter? Restaurants simply need to pay them more. I think tipping is ridiculous.

Men because of the way the waitresses flirt with them. I always laugh when we go out and I'm paying for the meal and the waitress starts flirting with my boyfriend and never refills my drinking glass and is rude to me. Believe that idiot isn't going to get a tip!

i've been a bartender for 15 years - it really depends on the service - men like u to flirt - women like u to have sumthin in common w/u - i do notice that ANYONE who has never worked for tips - - are really bad tippers - male OR female.

I am a man, and I think women tip better. I ask my daughters about this and they said because they have so many friends and their mothers who either work or have worked as waitresses (who are all female). Because of this, women understand how hard (and underpaid) of work this is, so they (women) appreciate it more and as such, they tip more.

It depends on the waiter and waitress, but i have asked varios servers and they all agree smokers do because they know how to relax .They drink their beverage of choice, and smoke until their meal is brought..If my server was excellant she/he would get @ least 20% of the entire bill,liquor included. I would pay there tip in cash too....
