Anyone have a good banana pudding recipe that doesn't use anything instant?

HOMEMADE BANANA PUDDING

1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. (heaping) flour
3 egg yolks
2 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 box vanilla wafers
3-5 bananas

Layer bananas, then wafers in oven proof medium bowl. In saucepan add sugar and egg yolks; mix well adding milk when needed. Add flour to egg mixture, then the rest of the milk; mix well. Add vanilla, stir constantly on medium heat until thick and smooth. Pour over wafers and bananas.
Make topping from egg whites. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 3 tablespoons sugar. Beat again. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat again. Lightly brown in oven.

1 1/4 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. flour
3 lg. egg yolks, beaten (save the whites)
3 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 box vanilla wafers
5 lg. bananas

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
1/4 c. sugar
Pinch of salt

In top of double boiler, combine sugar, salt and flour. Stir in egg yolks gradually add milk. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until mixture becomes slightly thickened. Remove from heat stir in vanilla and set aside. Line the bottom of a glass baking dish with vanilla wafers. Add a layer of sliced bananas. Spoon a layer of pudding over wafers and bananas. Repeat layers. After using all the pudding, end with a layer of vanilla wafers. Top with meringue.
Meringue: Beat meringue ingredients until stiff. Spread over banana pudding. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.

FAVORITE BANANA PUDDING

2 eggs 2/3 c. sugar
1 t. cornstarch 2 c. milk
2 or 3 sliced bananas
15 graham crackers, crushed into crumbs
1 t. vanilla 1/4 c. sugar
Beat egg yolks...Add the sugar and cornstarch, mix thoroughly...
Add the milk and cook over low heat until creamy, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add your vanilla extract...

In a lightly buttered baking dish, place alternating layers of graham cracker crumbs and sliced bananas...Add the vanilla custard...Beat egg whites stiff; add the 1/4 of cup of sugar...Spread the meringue over the custard and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until nicely browned...

Original recipe yield: 1 9x13-inch dish.
Prep Time:1 Hour 10 MinutesCook Time:20 MinutesReady In:1 Hour 30 MinutesServings:18 (change)

INGREDIENTS:
2/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 bananas, peeled and sliced
1/2 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafer cookies

DIRECTIONS:
In medium saucepan combine sugar, flour and salt. Add eggs and stir well. Stir in milk, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. When mixture begins to thicken, remove from heat and continue to stir, cooling slightly. Stir in vanilla and butter until smooth.
In 9x13-inch dish, layer pudding with bananas and vanilla wafers. Chill at least one hour in refrigerator before serving.

I normally drop a couple of eggs and a banana in my **** and let it simmer throughout the day. By the time I get home, I can just spoon it right out! Yummy!

banana pudding is my favorite but I use instant ingredients.

when i was peckish once i tried this and it worked....its quick but you easily do it your self I sliced a couple of bananas and covered them in a syrup i made from melting a couple of spoons of butter with some sugar and brandy then i topped it with cream and grated chilled chocolate over the top....it was yum, when i did it again i used creme fraiche instead and it worked just as well
