First figure out how much does it cost to get a new liver and then divide it by the prize of the empty beer cans. Thats the number of bottles.

Why not just save the beer? Then you won't need the new liver!

A new liver costs about $40,000 +/-
You get about 5 cents a can, so 40,000 divided by .5 = 80,000 beer cans.

At an approximate charge of about $100,000 per 2001 statistics, and aluminum at $2.00/lb with 10 cans per pound.

let's do the math..

100,000 / $2.00 = 50000 lbs of aluminum x 10 cans per pound = 500,000 cans.

It'd be better to quit drinking and let the liver heal on it's own.

I think you are remembering the collections of aluminum for dialysis patients? There are organizations that save cans for dialysis? This is a kidney problem; not liver.

A liver transplant operation cost about 25,000, so about 500,000 in most states.

In Maine, it would be about 250,000 becasue of the 10c redemption
