Personally, I think bush's devotion to Jesus is as phony as the results of the last 2 presidential elections!

(God, please forgive me...I know I'm not supposed to judge others!)

Depends who you ask.
Diehard Christians - No, everyone's devotion to Jesus should trump everything.

Moderate Christians and all other faiths- Yes, he is a president of people of many religions and should act in accordance with his station, not his own personal beliefs.

It is difficult to see his devotion to Jesus in his work, his action.
So far, he has made decidions based on politics--nothing to do with Christ and His teaching. His duties as a President is to lead, which is not incompatible w/his duties as a Christian. Unfortunately, he is lost and is in need of direction!

No. If his "Devotion to Jesus" is in conflict with his duty to the country, then he should resign.

He acts as if they do, but in reality they don't. His job is to govern this country based on the standards presented by our founders, and be a positive figure-head for America. So far i have seen him do very little to that effect... in fact i may be so bold as to say he is performing the in the opposite.

His duty is to lead the country, I think it is a secular task given our nation's separation of church and state. He can practice his religion if he wants, but it needs to be on a private level.

No, he should resign. There should be no conflict of church and state. He is very mealy mouthed about his religion. He claims to be Born Again, but won't admit it in print.

I think it does in his mind. He has even used the word "crusade" in reference to the Iraqi war, and claims that god told him to do it. The guy is a dangerous lunatic.
