What do unemployed people who are able to work, and people who are able to work need to get out there and work? Do you want the illegals out, that way you can get the job they have?

Before you go ranting, I do work, thank you.

I think what it all boils down to is money, everyone wants to make money and not work hard doing it. If everyone in this country could find that job that's just right for them and they were satisfied with the pay it brought...there wouldn't be any need for unemployment offices. No one wants to be outside in the middle of the Texas heat busting your *** for minimum wage. Americans have the opportunity to better them selves by going to college and making something out of their lives. It,s our own fault if we choose to blow daddy's money on partying and all nite binges. If they do that, then it,s their fault for not succeeding in life and they deserve to be out side doing manual labor or sitting home on their a** in front of a computer complaining about how the illegals have taken over their job,s.

Now i,m not complaining or saying that manual labor is a bad thing. I have done it for a long time. I,m just saying Americans have that choice to do it or better themselves.

I have run into a few people on disability on this board, or who were on temporary aid after a lay off, or who are on fixed income social security and in need of the benefits illegal immigrants drain. However, I haven't seen a huge presence of welfare takers, myself. I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

My problem is the failure of education in our public schools due to the flood of non-English speaking illegal immigrants draining the funds we pay for that education.

I've been out of work when I moved just as the dot com sector crashed, and I was surprised by how long it took to find a replacement job. I was entitled to take benefits, but you know what? That would have been an absolute last resort for me even though I have paid to fund those programs for just such an eventuality all of my adult life. I didn't take any of the benefits I 'qualified' for.

Don't discount the issue. It is far too big to 'brush off' as the complaints of welfare queens.

Sometimes its not that simple. I was unemployed for 6 months onc and it was very difficult to find a job. For every day during a week that you work while on unemployment the state takes away 1/4 of your benefits. So most part time jobs are out as they pay less than what you would have received otherwise. Its not lazy, its pure economics. Unemployment can barely sustain anyone, so cutting into that makes no sense.

The reason the "illegals" have so much work is because people here are lazy...they won't get off their a** for $5/hour when welfare pays way better and they can stay home and breed and make more kids to get money for.
I think the illegals should have to become citizens, and LEARN THE LANGUAGE!!! But at least they work...more than we can say for alot of "citizens"! Hey, maybe we should just swap with other countries-they can have the lazy people, and we'll take the ones who want to work and make a better life for themselves and their families!

Usually the unemployed don't have a job because they are unmotivated and probably will only get motivated when people stop giving them the necesaties to live. Starve them and they will work. I think the homless should take on a volunteer project instead of sitting on a corner with a sign they should clean side walks, pick up trash, clean windows, paint etc. If I saw a homeless person trying to better the community I live in I would reward him/her.

As long as they are legal I don't care but if they aren't they are breaking the law and if I were to break the law I would be in jail so why should they not have to leave and work to be legal

of course not. there's a reason why foreign workers do the work - americans won't do it. that, and they're much cheaper.
