think about it, they would justify owning slaves with it, beating slaves too....., selling your daughter into slavery, killing your own children, making women wear veils or else shave their heads, sacrificing animals, giving suspected homosexuals and fornicators the death penalty, and on and on.
I mean, I am pretty happy they only just think silly myths are literal like the flood, Noah and Adam and Eve and disregard the laws!

Dearest heart, I was raised in Christianity, I didn't have to research just for a question. How silly you christians are to assume atheists or agnostics don't know anything about the bible or weren't born into christianity.
I know more about your (our) religion and the bible than you do, trust me.
stop being so presumptuous and assuming if only we would read the bible again we would this time understand it!
The surest way to atheism is reading the bible.- When you really read the whole thing you are like: that's it? Are you kidding me? NEXT!

Where are the guidlines on how we beat our employees, because I don't know of any bosses who aren't punished the same whether their employee dies instantaniously or takes a few days to die.

I agree with you. For you to read the Bible is just a waste of your time. Without the Spirit of God in you, you won't understand what God is saying. You call my faith a silly myth but get angry when your beliefs are challenged. I will be happy to talk to you about any of the points you have trouble with. I have evidence for my faith as much or more than those bits of science you say has "proof" that I am wrong. Example In Israel after the Egyptian captivity "slaves" were treated more like we treat today's employees. No other people on earth at that time gave the rights to "slaves" than the Israelites did... In your effort to attack Christians and Christianity, you researched a great deal of the Old Testament. What you may have failed to realize is that Jesus (you know, the reason for Christianity) has His story told in the New Testament.
Also, in your rush to prove your superiority to all people of Faith, you missed the whole point of the Bible.
Try reading it again; this time for comprehension rather than points with which you can support your established beliefs. Come at it with an open mind and try to find some of the wisdom it holds.

Everything in the bible needs to be interpreted by an authority, almost every passage can be read in different ways with different meanings. Since protestants believe in personal interpretation, they are bound to come up with some weird interpretations, or at least some of them are, like the flood happened 5000 years ago and completely covered the whole earth. My point is yes we're lucky that most don't think that way, but I'm sure you could find some one who did believe those things.

Some do. I think a lot of the Christians are hypocrits too 'cause they think that just b/c they repent after they sin that it's okay to do it again. Like they'll do the same sin or whatever that they could easily stop doing all the time it's just that they repent later for it. Makes no sense b/c that's like getting a pardon for a crime, but going right back and committing the crime all over again.

Only the parts they like are taken literally. When it is some part the agree with, don't question it, it is gods word. The slave part is just a figure of speech. Many don't take "thou shall not kill" literally. Christianity is a pick and choose religion.

Please clarify the points clearly before making sweeping statements.
And in the times of Noah and Adam and Eve, the laws were not given yet. That happened after Moses crossed the Red sea story. And your point of stating these would be .....

Your understanding of the bible, and what the response of Christians is, is quite twisted and incorrect.
For me, I take the bible quite literally, unless there is an overriding reason not to...such as places in Revelation or parables, where the meaning of the story is what is trying to be conveyed.
Why wouldn't I take it literally?

Christianity is under a New Covenant, that of Grace. The laws you speak of are for a theocracy, the Jewish nation ruled directly by God, which no longer exists.
