I am looking for a doctor to help me. I don't know if a doctor even exists but I am looking for a practicing Internist who is also adept at treating patients with Hypochondria/Health Anxiety. This would be in the New York, Connecticut and/or New Jersey states.

It's called a psychiatrist. All over the phone books.

I really don't think an internist would take on this problem as it is a mental health problem. however, you may find one to work closely with your psychiatrist or counselor in order to help you.

Jessie's right. You should see a psychiatrist for that. Then the psychiatrist can work WITH your internist.

You have a mental health problem, you need to see a shrink or other mental health professional. Good Luck.
