i would say German. its fairly handy to learn, because it is very many ways similar to English, plus they speak it in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. and in other places around the world. that and French are i would say equal when it comes to usefullness. although Spanish is also growing into a very powerful language.
this is due to the emmergence of Latin American countries so it would be useful for business.
so if you want something Romantic go for French.
something handy enough to learn go for German.
or something useful for Business go for Spanish.

German hasn't been that useful in my experience and the grammer is difficult. I love french and it has been more useful than you would think. However they speak spanish in lots of different place and italian sound cool. I think i'd go for french or spanish though as i think you would get the most use out of them. You are most likely to meet people or go to places where they speak french or spanish i would imagine. I am sure what ever you choose you'll find interesting and a challange. I love languages and i hope you do too.

of the ones you mention, Spanish is the more widely spoken. By learning Spanish you will also be able to understand the use of genres (masculine and feminine) and the different effects of the 3 persons in verbs and adjectives. Italian becomes much easier to understand when you learn Spanish. I would go for Spanish and French as second choice.

Well, I'm very interested in the Italian and French language and their culture. I'm also interested in the British venacular, I suggest, though, that you take Spanish because Italian and French are on the basis of Latin and Spanish is very close to Italian and French, and also many people speak spanish now.

Are you wanting to learn it just for fun, or are you wanting the most useful? In the US, It would probably be most useful to learn Spanish. In Europe, most countries have their own languages, but most also speak English or French or German. I have heard that German or Swedish is the closest to English. Have fun.

Stick with English! Every other country I've been to understand English! But if you insist on stretching those braincells, go with German - fewer people seem to be studying that in favour of the more "romantic" sounding languages! Its true - even saying, "Hello" in German sounds like you're swearing!

it depends on what kinda guy you are.
if you're a romantic, learn french.
if you're more of an intellectual, german will do.
if you're cool, fashionable and love life, learn italian.
if you want to enhance your job outlook, learn spanish. it's the most used second language in the usa.

Personally, I feel that English is one of the most used languages in business and social situations. You should try that one.
