Brussel,
Wow! You are an informative fellow! Let's see if I can contribute anything in return; a favor for a favor (although you probably know these things).
1. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" is originally a John Wesley (founder of Methodism) quote and, while I respect him a great deal and believe he was God-ordained, he was wrong on this issue. Mark 7:1-16 is pretty plain.
2. "God helps those who help themselves" is actually anti-Biblical. The Bible is full of stories where God pulled the victory off and received the glory, and others where the men tried and failed. Paul said rightly "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Phil. 4:13), keeping in mind that "Christ" means God's anointing. Gives it a double meaning, both true. Without God's anointing and Jesus, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it" (Ps. 127:1).

3. "Let your conscience be your guide" is wrong. A conscience can be "weak," "defiled," and wrong (I Cor. 8:7-13; 10:29; Titus 1:15). It can be numbed to wrong (I Ti. 4:2). It can even be evil (Heb. 10:22). Christianity works by transforming a person; "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Phl. 2:5). From *there,* a believer's conscience can be healed and made pure (Heb. 9:14; 10:22).
I have always noticed what you said about the *love* of money. It's the truth; why it was slandered, I do not know.
Finally, I *think* Be moderate in all things" is a derivative of the Greek (or Roman?) "All things in moderation."
Hope at least one of the above was informative. Thanks for your help!!! I was pulling my hair out trying to find it...
