What I know about Islam is that when the muezzin calls every Muslim to prayer every morning, noon, and night. What I also know about Islam is that you can marry four women all at the same time. Plus, you can not eat pork or drink alcohol if you are a Muslim. In Islam, you can not gamble, you can not gossip, you can not commit usury, and you can not commit same-sex marriage. Islam is a very strict religion, you can only go what by what the Quran says, but not anything else.

I live in Malaysia, a multi-racial country. There are Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus and many more ( I'm a Christian). In our country, it is important to respect other religions and since we do that, we live together in harmony. If you don't believe me, come to Malaysia. Anyway, since I have Muslim friends, I know some things about Islam. Muslims pray 5 times a day (it's compulsary). They fast for a month before Hari Raya Aidilfitri (it's something like New Year) to understand the suffering of the poor. Men are allowed to marry up to four women and Muslims cannot drink alcohol, eat pork, have premarital sex. They are against violence but when they are provoked, when their religion is made fun of, when their phrophet is made into a joke etc, they will defend themselves and some might take drastic measures There are many more things that I know about Islam but my answer might get too long. Still, I'm asking you guys out there in US not to judge them/label them as terrorists and all. There are terrorists of other religions too and not please don't label ALL Muslims as dangerous. I agree that terrorists like Osama are dangerous but that doesn't mean that other Muslims are bad too.

I prefer to know Islam through their doings - not the preachings. Because for me what Islam is what a Muslim nearby me is. What Christianity is what a Christian nearby me is.

Let the religions stop preaching and start living. The world will be peaceful.

- Kill infidels (e.g. Christians, Jews, etc.), force conversion or dhimmitude
- Slavery: OK
- Women second class citizens
- Intolerance to minorities
- No interest in science, technology, arts
- No interest in other books except Koran (since it was written by God and is therefore perfect)
- Religious government not secular
- Destroy images of other religions
- Bigamy OK
- Child sex OK
- Expand influence globally not static or benign

Otherwise it's a perfect religion.

Not as much as a should. I know Muslims carried out the London bombings and i've seen other muslims holding placards stating 'UK will pay' however i also know that many muslims are peaceful. I think stereotyping is the worth thing that can happen, especially with religion.

I know they are monotheistic and have a prophet named Mohommed (spelling?) and their book is the Koran (or Quran).

And I know that some people do nasty things like blow people up in the name of Islam.

Other than that I am unfortunately pretty ignorant of the religion.
