Try a bigger drugstore like CVS or RiteAid. Also check places like Target or Wal-Mart. They tend to have pretty decent baby departments. There are special nipples and pacifiers on the market designed for preemies. They have smaller mouths AND less developed muscles for sucking. If you can't find anything there, check on the web or ask the hospital for a recommendation. If the baby is really small and needs something more than what the typical retail store offers, Mom and Dad may be able to get a prescription for a special nipple.
Best wishes for that new little one!

The only places that I found that carried preemie nipples were Target and Babies R' Us. Before that I had to "finger feed" them. That is, I had to attach a tube like structure to my finger that ran to the bottle. I had to hold the bottle upside down and put my finger that had the tube attached in my sons' mouths controlling the rate of flow while they practiced nursing. Before that I had to cup feed them. A very small cup that you put to their mouths and tip up so that a little of the milk got into their mouths. It was extremely tiring, especially since I was pumping for breast milk in between feeding the two of them, but I'd do it all over again.

I would suggest Baby's R Us, That's where I got all my baby's bottles, nipples and diapers. He was too small and weak, to use the normal nipples or nurse. Baby'sRUs has newborn nipples, that my son was able to feed through.
If that doesn't work, maybe the baby's pediatrician would be able to suggest something.

Try purchasing them from one of the formula companies such as enfamil.com or similac.com. If all else fails then contact the OB department of the local hospital and they may be able to tell you where you can purchase them.

You could try the hospital if shops don't have any.
