He drinks cause he misses you, sure he is, he's drinking while meeting other chicks. If he misses you so much he'd be on the phone with you instead of drinking. Time to break-up

How old are you? Is there a reasonable time that you two will be together (say if you move there in the next year)? Or is this permanent? If you have no chance of seeing him, then break up and move on. You can't do much with a boyfriend that's 1700 miles away, except write letters, emails, and pine after something that is over.

If he's drinking because he misses you, then this is not a guy to be with. More likely, he's drinking and partying because he's moved on and he likes to do it. Either way, it's no basis for a relationship. Add in the 1700 miles and you may as well move on too.

The fact that you moved to a different state, already is a problem because your relationship is a distance one and he deserves someone he can see on a regular basis if he can't deal with the distance between you.

I don't condone drinking alot because if you need alcohol to deal with your mate moving to another state, this is beginning to be a unhealthy relationship that is doom for failure.

I would not allow him to make me feel guilty and accept the blame for his drinking a lot and let him know he's destroying the relationship even more by his behavior.

Sit down and talk with each other and see if you both can make a compromise that both can live with

Do you REALLY need an answer to this?? He doesn't drink because he misses you. He drinks and parties because he's moved on already. He's getting more a$$ than a toilet seat in a public restroom.
This relationship should have ended before you left so that you could jsut be good friends. Move on girl.

www.myspace.com Its a great place to meet friends that have similar interests as you! Im on there and I've met over 40 people THIS YEAR alone! Its a blast! Plus they have pics so you can see what they look like! As for the boyfriend... Forget him. Alcoholics are NEVER fun to be around, they are too needy! It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders, check out the above site and meet some new friends to keep your mind off of him. He'll move on too, just might take longer. Good luck

no i donot think u have to break up a distance cannot effect the love between each other if u want to be a true girlfrnd then this is the time to prove ur self that r u able to be a true girlfrnd or not ,,no need to break up if ur bf is true bcoz it is more difficult to get true frnd in ur life...

Yes;

At the rate he's going, he may already be shopping around for a new g/f; so beat him to it and move on - he's not worth it.
