Muslims should not need to defend their faith, for those who truly want to understand Islam, they will approach a muslim to share about it.

Many bring up religious and "sensitive" issues to pick a fight, and if one's mind is already made up, no matter what any moderate Muslims say, they are sure to cite a million examples why they are right.

As those who have had the good fortune of meeting peace loving Muslims, they show the beauty of their faith by their manner and way of living.... the same goes for anyone of any faith. When we see someone like Mother Teresa or Gandhi, immediately their Kindness and Peacefulness inspires us to seek for "what they have".

Otherwise, so far I have seen, unless we are willing to meet in the middle, and respect each other's faith, no point...coz most discussions like defending of one's faith usually ends up in verbal wars hurled back and forth endlessly... two parallel lines.

I think that moderate Muslims should stand up and defend their religion. The real question is whether or not people would listen to those who did stand up. We in the US are at war with religious extremists who are Muslim. People don't know anything about Islam, so when they see extremists, they think that most Muslims are like them and agree with them. That would be like saying every Christian agrees with everything that comes out of Newt Gingrich's mouth (although admittedly Newt is bombing any buildings, he is pretty extreme). Stand up and defend your religion, because the longer this war and this religious misunderstanding goes on, the harder it will be to finally mend the break in society between the mostly-Christian US and the mostly-Muslim Middle East. Maybe if there are some US Muslims, in the meantime, working to keep the break from growing or trying to mend it now, it will not be so bad in the future.

If you think Islam is a religion of peace you are sadly misinformed. Read the Koran for yourself (which most muslims have not done), and study a little history. You'll see that Islam is in a 1400 year effort to take over the world, as instructed by the religion itself. Islam intends the death of western civilization.

I don't think "defend" is the best word.

If you read the Quran, there are many violent passages that Rogue Islamic scholars can use to justify all kinds of violence against us "Infadels", The radical Islamists are the ones with the guns that are not afraid to use them against us, or even against the more moderate Muslims, so they eventually take control.

Many Muslims are peacefull people, they need to take control of their own faith.

I don't believe that Muhammed is a true prophet, but I do believe that Muslims have a right to believe what they wish as long as they are peacefull about it!

Peace!

Yeah, I has a feeling this was a matter of the nasty 1% giving the decent and good 99% a bad name because those violent ones get all the publicity.

I think the world is in such a state that it really needs people like you to stand up, and help dissolve some of this growing blind hatred and fear.

Best Wishes
