Most, if not ALL, dog food companies have kennels where they test their dog foods. Better to test it there than on YOUR pet, right? I don't know whether the rumors and websites claiming cruelty are true or not. Go to the IAMS website and see their defense against these claims. http://www.iamstruth.com/

PETA is notorious for attacking their detractors or people who won’t support their radical agenda. They don’t believe that anyone should own pets at all – even if they’re loved and well-cared for.

I don't use "low residue" foods - they can sometimes cause intestinal problems - it's natural and healthy for the undigested materials to move out of the dog's system. I have always thought that IAMS and Eukanuba were overpriced for the quality of the ingredients - they use by-products.

Look for a food that does NOT have "by products" in the ingredients list or you'll be paying a lot of money for garbage. Personally, I like Nutro - it has no by products and is reasonably priced and my dogs have done great on it for more than 10 years. They make canned and dry dog foods for puppies and adults, and they have a new holistic line of food. Any changes in diet should be made slowly to avoid diarrhea - gradually mix more new food in with what you've been using until he's switched over. http://www.nutroproducts.com/naturalchoicedog.asp

My friend feeds her labs Canidae (www.canidae.com) and they look great! This is another all-natural, no by-product food.

Oh people, that was from YEARS ago! The pictures and video were proven to be FALSEand DOCTORED. Do not believe anything the animal rights groups like PeTA, DDAL, IDA, and HSUS tell you. They lie and distort the truth to further their no pet agenda. I can't believe PeTA still has that online, you'd think they would be embarrassed. No shame I guess, they are still using it to make more money.

Yes Mark, they did a few videotapes and then DOCTORED them! It was proven years ago and the Iams thing is a prime example of the lies spread to push their no animal agenda. What propaganda have you studied? Obviously not the propaganda of the AR groups or wouldn't believe anything they say. Seems like your 'resources' (term used loosely) must be coming from HSUS, PeTA, IDA, FFA, DDAL, etc. Those are NOT resources, they are halftruths and outright lies. Wake up to the truth.

They do animal testing. Go to their website and you can watch the videos of their lab. They make it look nice and shiny but if you observe the interaction with the animals you can see the truth. Animals kept in little cages, barely able to turn around, feet splayed from the wire. That's a fact lived every day by these unfortunate prisoners of hope.

This is a boycott brought about by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.) IAMS denies all of it. Don't only go to the website to form an opinion, do your research.

Many companies do animal testing and IAMS is only one of those.
If you do not like what they do do not use thier products.
There are far far better dogs foods available than IAMS anyway.
I do not feed it as I do not like the ingredients that are used in it.
I feel that ground corn and by-products are cheap filler and will not feed my dogs junk.
