Grape-Nuts were introduced in 1898 by Charles W. Post, who had a penchant for creating fanciful names for the products he sold. The article also said that he originally called his Post Toasties, “Elijah’s Manna”. Oh my. The name grape-nuts came about because the cereal had maltose, grape sugar, in it and because of its “nutty flavor”. Since the Pure Food and Drug Act and FTC did not come along until 1906 and 1914 respectively and had specific exclusions for “fanciful” names, they apparently felt no need to mess with Mr. Post and his fanciful “grape-nuts”.
Here ya go!

I believe that name came from Fruit of the Loom. The grape guy gets a little loopy from time to time so and they have to remove him from their group (they send him off to the padded room or something). Anyway to recover their loss due to their down time without him, they put their heads together and decided to name a cereal after their partner, the Grape Nut.
(I don't know how I came up with this -Have you got a padded room where I can hide out for a while?)

I love them! But never buy them because I'm the only one who eats them. Too many calories in my serving! The suggested serving is just not enough!
They are called grape nuts, because they are baked in a loaf, and then crumbled apart to make the cereal. By a man called Gilbert Grape, who is apparently nuts.

Guy Named Francis Grape invented the cereal and before he got to market it he went nuts, so when he died his family marketed the cereal and hence the name Grape Nuts

When I was a kid I used to love grape flavored candy, so when I saw the commercials for Grape Nuts I was so happy. So I begged and begged for a box and when I finally got it I tore it open and poured a bowl out and...
It was the biggest, most horrific disappointment of my life. I wept tears of sadness and hate towards the cereal company.

well, seedless grapes are actually neutered.
The little grape testicles are then toasted to perfection, and because Mr. Post had the sense to hire a marketing firm to come up with a name, we now have Grape Nuts.
Much more appetizing than Grape Testicles, or Grape Balls, or the like.
Yum!
