Why is it that if you blow them in their face they hate it but as soon as they are in the car they stick their heads out of the windows?

Hey you my dog isn't stupid, if you blow in her face she will get very annoyed, but why would anyone want to blow in a dogs face anyhow, would you like it if someone blew in your face, no, when your driving how many times do you have the window open for fresh air, dogs are a bit more clever they can stick their heads out cause their owner does the driving so they can chill, just respect the doggies of this world and never ever call them stupid.

Not all dogs hate having someone blow air on their face, and not all dogs like sticking their heads out windows. Simple as that.

I don't think it is the smell. I think that dogs get annoyed when you blow in their face. My dogs especially hates it when I blow right on her soft wet nose. So while the blowing is annoying, sticking the head out the window is refreshing: like driving a convertible with the top down, or cruising down the road on a motorcycle.

I find that dogs are like humans. Some are quite intelligent while others are not. It could be the breath. Us humans do not like someone who has bad breath blowing in our face. And dogs smelling sense is more developed then ours. Think about it they can track down raccoons and other small game, find people missing in the woods and so forth

Maybe it's the fact that you have to get quite close to their face in order to blow in their face. Dogs don't see well up close, and may view this as a threat or act of aggression. Just a guess. Maybe someone who is a vet or vet tech could enlighten us more.

I don't like it when people blow on me! But the feel from the wind in a car is ok. It has a different feel to it
