I probably have on many occasions. As someone else has pointed out, a bottle is only 3 or 4 glasses. Over a few hours, that's not that big a deal. It's no different than drinking a 6-pack at a BBQ on a summer's afternoon (which I know a lot of people would do easily). In fact, it's a good deal less than a 6 pack.

Now would I do it every night? No. Though my hubby and I used to go through a bottle between us every night. A drink with dinner and one while watching tv in the evening isn't much. Now I drink a lot less. I find since having my son I just don't have the tolerance anymore. I feel rough in the morning after 2 glasses.

I ocassionally buy a bottle of wine to go with our meal at home. A bottle only contains at the most 4 glasses. Between my husband and me that is only 2 glasses apiece to enjoy with our meals. So it really is not a big deal. Now if you are drinking a bottle evry night by yourself then that may be a problem.

as a few people said its only 3 to 4 glasses in the standard bottle. I drink wine with dinner quite a bit & sometimes finish the bottle, its no big deal and it doesnt give me a headache.

I have and I would again. Because it was the best wine I've ever had and the company was too. Given similar circumstances, I'd happily do it again. But what you're implying is the drunkenness coming from drinking so much wine. You forget that a night is longer than a few hours and getting drunk isn't the point in drinking if one is mature.

Yes....and because a 750 ml standard bottle of wine, consumed at a rate of one glass an hour would last about 4 hours....not really a ridiculous amount of wine. Less than the equivalent of 3 martinis or a 6 pack of beer, as far as the alcohol goes.

Been there done that. I was celebrating the New Year. Plus, drinking an entire bottle of wine over a 12 hour period isn't that big of a deal.

Some bottles only contain 3 or 4 glasses of wine - it's easy to go through that much just during dinner. I don't think it's that big of a deal unless one is doing it every single night.

I could drink a whole bottle of wine if my husband was right there, drinking it too. Good times!

I generally open a bottle wine and pour a glass while I'm fixing dinner. I re-fill the glass for dinner. After dinner I'll have another glass...and the bottle is empty.
