Use a regular smoothie recipe that you like, but substitute Soy Silk milk for regular or soy yogurt for regular yogurt. I know people have mental reservations about soy products, but they really are delicious and so much healthier for us all.

Orange Juice might work as a good alternative to dairy products. I would recommend adding ripe bananas as a way to make it less tart. Here's a few recipes I found online w/out dairy: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Breakfast Smoothie 1/2 cup orange juice 1 banana 6-7 frozen strawberries 4-5 slices frozen peaches 5-6 frozen blueberries 6-7 ice cubes fresh mint (optional) dash of nutmeg (optional) 1 tsp. honey (optional) Place all ingredients except ice cubes in blender. Puree until smooth. Add ice, and puree again. Pour into a glass and sprinkle nutmeg on top and garnish the some fresh mint. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Frozen Fruit Slush 1 1/2 cups ice cubes 1 ripe banana, sliced 5 strawberries, hulled 1/2 cup orange juice Mix all ingredients in blender until thick and smooth. Serve immediately. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Strawberry Lime Cooler 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced 1 1/2 cups seltzer 1/2 cup lime syrup 1/2 cup fresh lime juice In a blender blend at high speed the strawberries, the seltzer, the lime syrup, the lime juice, and 1/2 cup ice cubes until the mixture is smooth and pour the mixture into chilled glasses. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Danielle G Smoothie Recipe The key is putting slightly more pineapples than strawberries, and because the fruit is frozen you dont need ice. Tastes great and very healthy!! Ingredients: 2 1/2 to 3 cups of Welch’s strawberry Breeze Juice (or fill blender little less than half way full) 2 1/2 hand fulls of Dole’s frozen pineapples 1 1/2 to 2 hand fulls of Dole’s frozen whole strawberries 3 squirts of clover honey Mix in blender on high for a few seconds. Serves 2 large cups. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Strawberry Beach Smoothie" 16 oz. strawberries 2 very ripe bananas (browning peel) 1 cup sugar 1 Ziploc freezer bag 2 cups ice 1 cup water Rinse strawberries in cold water and remove stems. Place strawberries in freezer bag with sugar. Peel bananas and put in bag. Shake bag. Put bag in freezer for at least 2 hours. Pour frozen fruit into blender. Add ice and water. Blend well. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Enjoy!!

I used to get smoothies from a health food shop and they used Almond Milk in their low fat recipes. I don't know if this contains dairy though. However, my 8 year old daughter is lactose intollerant, so we cannot give her any dairy, she even has problems with soya if she has too much of it, you could either use soya milk or rice milk (Rice Dream is the nicest we have found) and it is dairy free. It isn't as thin as milk, but we make her milkshakes out of it, and for a treat include a dollop of dairy free ice cream. Holland and Barrett sell a really good one, I think its called Sweedish Glacee or something, comes in hexagonal black plastic tubs in either vanilla or rasberry. Its thick and creamy and low in fat and is dairy free.

You may have a problem cos bananas are fairly high fat and therefore not the best fruit to use for a low fat recipe

Banana's are actually benificial for weight loss
ps you can add a few drops of vanilla for extra flavour if you want. Or add a spoon of Whey protein(speeds up the metabolism and stimulates muscle growth) comes in many great flavours.
